In 2016, my husband and I bought our second home together. It was a total gut. It was a glorified 70s lake home that still had green shag carpeting, popcorn ceilings, blue carpeting in the bathrooms, and a kitchen the size of closet. I have never wanted a large home, rather a cozy home to raise my daughters and love my husband in. We took on this reno with a three month old and a 21 month old. Looking back, I'm not sure how we tackled such a large project. We are no where near finished, but we've made great progress.
During the past two years, I have come to realize my style and vision for this home. A neighbor and friend of mine calls my decorating style "Michigan cottage". I love neutral colors with pops of true navy. Lots of white, grey, and black.
As time passes, I know what will work best for us - decor wise - in our home. I think it's crucial to study your living space. Making your home your own takes a lot of time and money. I am continually giving myself grace to truly embrace this statement. I don't a think a home is ever finished, but I feel like we're getting there. I am so happy to bring you into our living space.
